# Artboar design workflow

Connect a remote Streamable HTTP MCP client to https://mcp.artboar.com/mcp.
This endpoint is anonymous: no account, API key, or OAuth login is required.
Clients requiring OAuth can instead connect to https://artboar.com
and follow discovery and browser consent. Read https://artboar.com/auth.md.

1. Call `list_templates` and `list_assets` to discover the bundled catalog. Read
`artboar://operations` for the exact editing schema rather than guessing fields.
2. Call `create_project` with the chosen template or a blank design. Save the
returned `workspace_id` and `capability` privately. These authorize that
workspace; do not put them into public messages, URLs, or published artwork.
3. Poll `get_job` until initialization completes. Use bounded polling and respect
retryable capacity/rate errors. Call `inspect_project` before editing.
4. Call `apply_operations` with a unique `request_id` and the latest
`expected_revision`. A batch is atomic and represents one undo step. Reuse the
original request ID when retrying the same mutation. On a revision conflict,
inspect the workspace again and reconcile the change before submitting it.
5. Call `render_preview`, poll `get_job`, and inspect the image. Check legibility,
text wrapping, cropping, spacing, and each artboard. Revise as needed; `undo`
and `redo` are available. Layouts do not automatically adapt across artboards.
6. Call `export_image` separately for each requested artboard (PNG or WebP,
1× or 2×) and `export_project` for the portable editable `.design.json` file.
Poll jobs and deliver the resulting downloads. Explain that download links
expire after ten minutes, possibly sooner if the workspace expires or is deleted.

Workspaces expire 24 hours after creation; activity does not extend them. Download
the final files before expiry. A lost capability cannot be recovered by name.
Delete a workspace only when the user no longer needs it: deletion revokes its
downloads. OAuth tokens never replace workspace capabilities.

Hosted MCP accepts bundled assets, not uploaded photos, arbitrary remote URLs,
HTML, or scripts. It creates separate server-side artwork and cannot control or
read an open browser editor's local draft. For personal uploads or device-frame
imports, download the editable project and continue in https://artboar.com/app/.
The browser editor's local draft is separate from hosted workspaces.
